Both the BWL and the BMC will continue, but they have been merged into a single site: the BWL.  Normally, each week you will be treated to a double feature: one female-vs-female (F/F) match and one mixed male-vs-female (M/F) match.  On rare special occasions, such as Tournament Finals, you may get on extra-long or multiple-fall match on a given week.  Over the long run, though, you will get an equal amount of F/F and M/F action.

There are many reasons why I'm merging the BWL and the BMC sites together:

1) Time is a constant in our universe/dimension:
Over the last few years we've added new hardware, new software, and new writers to our Basement family.  But lately time management has become our biggest single problem.  As the scope of the BWL and BMC have expanded over the past years, the time available for these enhancements has not.  We are forced to squeeze an increasing amount of work into a finite amount of time, and have reached the point where adjustments must be made.  There are additional site enhancements planned for the near and distant future, so we must reorganize our work schedule to accommodate those.

2) A haircut and a real job: The Basement Leagues are not my primary occupation.  They are a sideline to my regular job-I'm a teacher in my real life-and must therefore take a secondary role to that job.  Rather than eliminate any part of the Leagues' activities, I decided to reduce each component as little as necessary to make room for the coming attractions.  This also provides a long-overdue opportunity to freshen up the website's appearance and accessibility.

3) Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations (IDIC):
Some of our more inactive features will be revived: the Hooker Squad, the wrestlers' Profiles, for example.  And some new surprises that have been simmering on the back burner will be moved to the front burner and will debut soon. Although I love the regular League fights, I think this website needs to present a wider variety of combat stories, and these special features take about twice as much time as a regular fight (Hooker Squad took even longer than that!).

Also add to this that isolating the mixed and the F/F combats sometimes forces me to cut some ideas (some sequels where the original story is F/F and the logical sequel mixed were cut because the BMC members who would read the mixed story wouldn't have the background provided in the BWL). Personally, I love both formats and I think making them cohabit opens new realm of possibilities. Isn't that our continuing mission to "Boldly go where no one has gone before"?

4) A Little Help from my (Girl)Friend:
Before any of you say anything, I want to make clear that the merger of the BWL and the BMC has nothing to do with the recent creation of the BRW (now mutinywrestling.com). At first, I lent a hand, but this website is now completely under Mutiny's care, so it takes none of the time I spend on the BWL and the BMC (the only difference is now she spends that time in the office with me). I write a few narratives here and there and I assist in the shootings (take a look at the pictures and you'll agree with me that shooting this is like a vacation!).

If you still have a beef with the new format after reading these, you can email me at
entropy@entropy-bwl.com, or get on our new forum and express yourself.
Why did you merge the two sites?
