Cindy and Caribe's only previous encounter was a Wildcat oil fight [BWL-112]. That
was back when Cindy abided by the rules and fought clean. That was also when
Caribe had an almost unblemished winning streak, marred only a single loss to Mimi
(who was also a clean fighter then) based on referee Kim's technicality call.
My, how things have changed since then. Cindy developed a severe mean streak
and Caribe had a miserable showing in 2006 and so far in 2007. Cindy feels the conditions are ideal for challenging the tall exotic dancer to a submission wrestling match in the confines of the octagon. Caribe is aware of the bruising brunette's new reputation. But she's also encouraged by her decisive win over France on the Disk earlier this month, so she accepts the challenge. Besides, it's a sign of weakness for a BWL woman to decline any challenge. All the Bahamian Bombshell wants is a level playing field. The winner of the women's bout will advance to the mixed match, facing Olivier. The BWL men feign indifference to the women's abilities, under the assumption that they can handle any woman under any circumstances. In reality, they stay keenly aware of each woman's skills and record. Oli knows that Cindy will use every trick in the book-and quite a few that aren't in the book-to win. Should she be his opponent, he's ready for cheating and underhanded tactics. He's equally aware that while Caribe has a formidable record against women, she's not so hot against men. In fact, Cindy is one of the two women with the best reputation in mixed combat; Caribe is just so-so at 3-3 against the guys. Oli is a shrewd combatant, adjusting his strategy to take advantage of each opponent's weaknesses. He's done his homework and is ready to face either woman. |
